In Ireland, the publicly funded health service provides and funds a wide range of services for people with disabilities and their carers, ensuring access to essential supports for a better quality of life. These services include basic health services, assessment, rehabilitation, income maintenance, community care, residential care, respite, home care, and daycare.
While some services are delivered directly by the Health Service Executive (HSE), many community, residential, and rehabilitative training services are offered by voluntary organisations that receive grant aid from the HSE. This collaboration ensures comprehensive support for individuals with disabilities across Ireland, building better, more accessible services that empower people with disabilities to live their lives to the fullest.
